At Friends of St Mary’s School, Woodham Ferrers, we strive to improve the educational experience and extracurricular activities of the children who attend St Mary’s. Our aim is to provide for the children exciting events, memories and enriching experiences they may otherwise not be able to experience. St Mary’s is a small village school with less than 70 children currently attending. Although small, St Mary’s has a high number of children from disadvantaged backgrounds as well as a higher number of children with SEN.
Our team is made up of dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference for the children of St Mary’s. All of our committee and members are volunteers, giving up their time, expertise and knowledge to support us in our mission to enrich the lives of the children of St Marys.

Hi I’m Sam, a mum of two boys who attend St Mary’s Primary School in Woodham Ferrers. It’s a small village school with just 63 children and I’m hoping to take on this challenge to raise some vital funds for our PTA. These funds are used to buy and invest in things that the school and the children really need to enhance learning and ensure the children really enjoy their time at school and get the most out of their primary school journey.
I enjoy walking but this challenge is really going to stretch me. It will see me walk an average of 7 miles each day for the whole month of March. I will be covering 200 miles which is the same distance as walking from Woodham Ferrers to Paris!
I hope you will consider donating and sharing my page. I will do my very best to keep you all up to date on my progress throughout the month.
Thanks so much, Sam xx
